I'd like some headphones to have at work. I currently use my Sony 'Street Style (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000068RKA/qid=1094042596/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/026-0100940-9794824)' 'phones, but they are from my portable, and they're not super comfortable wearing all day long, plus they leak noise quite a bit, so can't have them at high[ish] volumes if I want to.

Nothing wireless. Got some RS45's at home, but don't need any of that for the work place. I do love those Sennheisers though, so would probably favor towards other sets by them. Suggestions please (apart from Philips - I don't trust them).

:)

Oops.. price range. Guess around £30 - £50.

I have some Sony MDR-EX71s for my iPod. They are the ones that sit right inside your ear, so block out alot of background noise ( so much that I had both in while walking thru town once, and my mate was behind me talking to me and I had no idea :p) but they are very, very comfortable - i wear them for like 8 hours at work, and they don't irritate me at all; don't even feel them being there, unlike regular in ear phones that just make your ears sore after an hour or so.
£36 from Dixons.

edit: http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews71993.html says £24.99 at amazon. And has a pic.

Plus they come with a short cord and an extension cable, so are perfect for plugging into CD/MD/iPod remotes with out making the overall cable stupidly long.

Sorry, should have specified, i'd rather 'cans'. Over-ear style. :shy:

Thanks though. I've been thinking about new ones for the MuVo since the Sony's I've got are getting on a bit. Had to replace the covers, and they're a bit battered. (y)

I hate them type ive got a pair from the states, made by coby, they leak noise like theres no tomorrow. I had a look at the type of earphones Sven linked to a while ago but wasn't sure whether there any good. I only started getting stuff of the internet and reading reviews since being with the forums.

The sennheiser HD497's are supposed to be good (I know someone with a pair and they say they're great), about £40 (fabric covered cans, like the RS-45's), as are the HD500's (about £45 with a leather effect edging like DJ headphones).
The HD600's are fantastic, but a bit out of your price range at £185 :\

I can highly recommend sennheiser 280s, £80 but so so worth it. Soon as you put them on and have your music playing the outside world falls silent. Take them off your head and you have a pair of speakers. Once on they leak no sound, and you can wear them for hours without feeling the least bit uncomfatable. They'll strengthen your neck muscles as well as they're a bit on the heavy side :p

Just done some reading and shopping around, and I'm just about sold on the Sennheiser HD570s. £55 from Unbeatable. Unless anyone can convince me otherwise....

They look good from the brief description on unbeatables site (y)

They do, but they also allow a good deal of outside noise in as well. Not a good thing, I hear you cry... but consider the cyclist who wants some music, whilst also being alert to traffic and potential hazards. For the sort of headphone to deafen me to people talking behind me, I think I'd be dead by this time next week.

Shall order those Sennies tomorrow morning then. :D

Ok, got these today... eventually. They did turn up Monday morning, but I was still in Manc, and the folks were away, so redelivered today. :(

Anyway, the headphones. They're awesome. Nice n chunky, but lightweight and solid feeling. Excellent sound reproduction with depth and weight I've not heard from 'phones before.

Cons: Open back. I did know this, but it's worse than I imagined. They're basically as loud from the outside as they are inside, which is good on the part of Sennheiser, but bad for me trying to be respectful to my coworkers when I've got Kanye West blaring out of them. :$

I'll give them a run tomorrow at work, and will just have to keep myself to low volumes. :whoops:

Ok, it's all good. HAd them at fairly modest volumes today and Paul, who sits right next to me, said he never heard anything all day. :D

Crank it up baby. :}
